Cloud Computing, Application Modernization

The opportunity

Dawson, a full-service workforce solutions agency, wanted to elevate the functionality and appearance of its web presence to keep up with the fast pace of its industry. They came to VectorOne seeking solutions for desktop and mobile platforms that highlighted content and system redundancy. Specifically, Dawson wanted VectorOne’s expertise to tackle developing and revamping its:

  • Landing Pages
  • Candidate Application Process
  • Integration with Recruiting Software
  • Job Opportunity Board
  • Content Publishing Processes
  • Brand Engagement

With more than 65% of people saying they are open to looking for a new job in 2021, Dawson was motivated to improve the functionality of its digital footprint to meet the demands of job candidates and companies. Through this comprehensive branding and digital engagement, VectorOne was focused on refining Dawson’s brand concept, enhancing its brand engagement, and increasing web traffic.

The strategy

VectorOne evaluated the strategic goals of the website, organizational capabilities, and technology trends to determine a best fit platform to host and maintain the Dawson website. The technologists incorporated analytics and reporting so that Dawson recruiters could understand candidate and user behavior better; ultimately improving efficiencies within recruiting processes. Integrating major social networks including LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Indeed also provided enhanced functionality. VectorOne determined that by automating communication channels between Dawson and candidates, it could reduce the time between exchanges, ultimately decreasing the total recruitment timelines. Mini-applications were developed that communicated to specific Dawson recruiters.

The solution was going to need to be cloud-based because it would better allow for quicker updates, reliability, enhanced performance and data integrity. With future growth in mind, it was imperative that we created the ability to integrate framework solutions that allowed for future pairing with accounting and mapping functions.

The technology

First, VectorOne moved Dawson’s website from a .NET Nuke-based platform to utilize Wordpress with a MySQL database for ease of content management, making the platform one that could grow with Dawson’s expanding business. First, VectorOne ensured that login and document upload functionality was seamless, enhancing overall user experience. Google Analytics was integrated to better identify users’ needs and provide Dawson with critically important data they could leverage for targeted marketing and content development. Additionally, Yoast SEO was connected with Wordpress for SEO purposes, and it was connected with a third-party HRIS platform for candidates.

The results

Dawson’s reputation as a leading recruitment agency was elevated even further with its revamped and robust website that enhanced candidate experience and sped up response time between recruiters and candidates. Dawson could now make quick and easy content updates, including blogs, landing pages and job opportunities, allowing their team to keep up with a competitive job market. The streamlined look and user experience decreased steps for candidate application processes and allowed for faster response time between recruiters and candidates, ultimately increasing effectiveness of its recruitment team.
